Account Manager – Okanagan (BC)
Overview: We are a leader in Canada’s rapidly growing renewable energy industry, providing solar and storage solutions and engineering services to installers across the country. We’re looking for an outside account manager to join and help to drive the growth of Capita Energy and the industry as a whole. You’ll be joining a dedicated team of experienced solar professionals helping us make positive impact on the environment and continue to transform the way electricity is generated in Canada.
This job would be primarily throughout the Okanagan Specifically based in Kelowna.
Reports to: Regional Sales Manager – Western Canada
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively deliver Capita Energy’s value proposition to customers and leads.
- Qualify new potential customers to grow the customer base.
- Deliver Capita Energy’s Value Proposition to Customers
- Must be comfortable making warm and cold calls
- Attending local trade shows
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 1 Year of Solar Industry Experience
- Must be self-motivated and exhibit excellent time management
- Must possess an attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Practice excellent spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Have proven proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word and Power point
- Experience with CRM software is an asset

Backend Developer - Victoria (BC)
Overview:
As a Backend Developer at Capita Energy, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and building calculators (e.g. our solar racking calculators on fast-rack.ca), managing hosting accounts, and supporting our front-end developer with various WordPress websites. You will also be instrumental in developing custom tools and integrations, managing databases, and contributing to our ERP system. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with our team to develop and optimize our eCommerce portal, designed specifically for our solar installers.
Reports to: Director of Marketing
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance existing solar racking calculators, including plugin updates.
- Develop custom tools and integrations to meet the unique needs of our business.
- Manage and optimize our hosting accounts, ensuring security, reliability, and scalability.
- Assist in the integration of our ERP system with other tools (e.g. WooCommerce)
- Collaborate with the front-end developer to support and improve our WordPress-based websites.
- Contribute to the development of an eCommerce portal tailored for user experience, and seamless integration with existing systems.
- Manage and optimize database systems, ensuring efficient data storage and retrieval.
- Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues in a timely manner.
- Work closely with the product team to gather and understand requirements, ensuring the backend solutions align with business objectives.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and implement best practices in backend develpment.
Required Skills:
- Backend Development: Strong demonstrated experience with PHP, and demonstrated proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, API Development, and JSON.
- Database Management: Experience with managing and optimizing databases, particularly in SQL.
- Custom Development: Ability to develop custom tools tailored to specific business needs.
- WordPress & WooCommerce: Proven experience in WordPress and WooCommerce environments.
- API Integration: Expertise in developing and integrating APIs for seamless system communication.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical team members.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the solar industry or a strong interest in renewable energy.
- Familiarity with front-end technologies (e.g., HTML, CSS, JavaScript) to support front-end development when needed.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
- Experience working with ERP systems.

Compensation:
Capita Energy offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $110,000, depending on your experience, skills, and the value you bring to our team. Compensation is aligned with industry standards.
